"A group of local families helping to change the world by producing fresh foods for kitchens across Illinois."
History of Brody's Garden
With the help of my grandparents, I started gardening in 2005 at their country home in Forrest, IL. After having a bumper crop of green peppers, we took them to the local grocery store to see if they would buy them. We were told by one of the owners that it would be better if we sold them ourselves by joining Stewards of the Land.
The first year we sold over $400 worth of produce; mostly tomatoes, from only 6 tomato plants. Of course, you do not get a bumper crop every year, but the next year was amazing also.
I, Brody, love gardening and am especially fond of being able to sell most of my produce. We do not use any chemicals on our produce because chemicals are bad for people and most people want chemical-free produce.
We like to have satisfied customers and hope to be able to continue this project for a very long time.
Produce We Have Grown
